John McCartney

John, who lives in Shifnal, Shropshire, is married to Mandy and they have a son and daughter, both of whom have left university and are now (supposedly) independent adults.

John's job is a lecturer at RAF Cosford, the RAF's No 1 School of Technical Training - in other words, the main centre for training engineering tradesmen. It also has the Joint School of Photography and the RAF School of Physical Education.

He has worked there as a civilian education officer since 1978, just a year after he left the RAF. He's due to retire in 2006, when he reaches 60.
