He says, "I was an 'Audio-Visual Aids' technician, and everyone knew what I did as a job. Then a chinless bean-counter renamed the department 'Learning Resources' and nobody knew what I did!" He then became a pub landlord and looked after pubs all over the north-west.
Tony's hobbies are photography, and failing to understand why his SARPC doesn't always do as he expects!
He and Fran, who is a Darlington lass and moved to Oldham in her teens, have together managed pubs, clubs, hotels and restaurants in places as far north as Keyingham, and as far south as Edwinstowe. Fran currently works as a mobile carer in the north of Manchester and has a son and a daughter - the latter is expecting a baby any day. This will be their first grand-child, so naturally they are very excited and Fran is frantically knitting baby clothes which are all in neutral colours, as they do not yet know the sex of the baby!
